Capacity building for Member States on Internet Governance

The African Union Commission (AUC) jointly with the European Union Commission organized a training of trainers on Internet Governance from 27 to 31 May 2019 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia through its Policy and Regulatory Initiative for Digital Africa (PRIDA) project.

The event is part of the ongoing implementation of PRIDA Project to deliver capacity building to Member States on Internet Governance towards strengthening and establishing the National, Regional and Continental Internet Governance Forums (IGFs) and strengthening the African Stakeholders to actively participate in the Global Internet Governance Fora.

Participants will learn principles of Internet Governance and will be able to develop the final content for future trainings using group work, debate and presentations. Participants’ capacities on how to deliver future trainings at the regional level will also be strengthened.

The PRIDA programme aims at creating a more harmonised and enabling environment for the use of Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) for human, social and economic developments, with an emphasis on addressing the policy, regulatory and legislative dimension of broadband demand and supply in Africa.

The workshop brought together more than 80 National and Regional Trainers from African Union Member States. For further information contact Directorate of Information and Communication
