Mainstreaming and integrating ICTwithin priority sectors is another focus area of the African Union commission to support African countries to fully seize the development potential of ICT. In this aspect, the PRIDA project aims to raise awareness of relevant actors in Africa, in particular public authorities and civil society regarding mainstreaming and integrating ICTs & digital technologies in Africa economy and society.

The project moreoversupports the development of detailed sector implementation plans for the critical sectors identified in the Digital Transformation Strategy (Digital Health, Digital Education, Digital Agriculture, Digital Governance, etc) including the design of programs and projects based on the proposed policy recommendations and proposed actions of the DTS.

The Digital Transformation Strategy (DTS) for Africa has been developed with an overall objective of “harnessing digital technologies and innovation to transform Africa’s societies and economies topromote Africa’s integration, generate inclusive economic growth, stimulate job creation, erase thedigital divide and eradicate poverty to secure the benefits of digital revolution for socio-economicdevelopment.”
