Workshop organized by the African Union Commission to discuss and validate the Prototype of the Policy and Regulation Initiative for Digital Africa (PRIDA) Digital platform, which aims to serve as a secured online space for African Experts and Policy makers to undertake consultations and exchange of best practices on digital policy issues that engage African nations at international level.

To discuss harmonization of ICT in Africa, how to monitor and evaluate the progress and way forward to better adapt Africa policy and regulatory environment to the challenges of digital transformation. The meeting is also an opportunity for African governments and regional organizations to assess current and past harmonization initiatives, identify trends and gaps of policy and regulatory approaches both at national, regional and continental levels.

The workshop aims to deliver capacity building to African Union Member States on Internet Governance towards strengthening and establishing the National, Regional and Continental Internet Governance Forums (IGFs) and strengthening the African Stakeholders to actively participate in the Global Internet Governance Fora. Participants learned principles of Internet Governance and reviewed the training materials using group work, debate and presentations that will be adopted to different stakeholders for future trainings. Participants’ capacities on how to deliver future trainings at the national and regional level were also strengthened.
